A special Keep Longview Beautiful award and recognition of the first volunteer of the year award is on the program for Keep Longview Beautiful awards recognition scheduled Sunday.

"We had to make our final decisions on Friday morning," said Beverly Abell, director of the Heart of Tyler Main Street Program, one of the event's organizers. "The best information available at that time said that the weather would improve somewhat as the day goes on Saturday. Given that the event doesn't begin until noon, and we don't see our largest crowds until later in the day, the decision was made to continue with the festival."

Howell and Caskey, Dan Sanchez and the Kings of Pleasure, Jim Suhler and Monkey Beat, Larry Garner, Bugs Henderson and the Shuffle Kings and the Bluebirds with Miki Honeycutt are scheduled to perform.

The Wiley College Office of Church Relations in collaboration with the Health Services in the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment services, has scheduled a health fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 908 Whetstone St. in Marshall.
