Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital is joining with AARP to offer a two-day, eight-hour driver-safety program for older adults that could qualify them for discounts on their automobile insurance. The refresher course runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 4 and 5 at the hospital, 414 Paoli Pike in Malvern, in conference rooms 1 to 4. Registration is $10.
The refresher course, 55 Alive/Mature Driving, is offered nationally and is designed for people interested in learning how to compensate for slower reflexes and other changes that come with aging. Handi-Crafters Inc., the Thorndale agency that provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities, will expand its facility at 225 Barley Sheaf Rd.
The expansion follows a fund-raising campaign anticipated to bring in a total of $2.75 million. Construction is expected to begin in June and should take 18 months to complete, according to officials.

The panel includes Ben Freeman and Charles Melchior of Citizens for Global Solutions, and Robert Parker of UNICEF. A question-and-answer period will follow the panel presentation. The free event is open to the public. For more information, call 610-388-8022.
The dairy at Camphill Village Kimberton Hills in Kimberton has received the highest rating from the Cornucopia Institute, a Wisconsin nonprofit group that monitors organic standards on dairy farms throughout the country. The rating is based on a survey that examines the health and longevity of cows, farm oversight, and pasture time of the animals. The Kimberton Hills dairy has one of the few licenses in the state to sell raw milk.
