Ian Grossman, a spokesman for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, which regulates interstate bus travel, said his agencys records show Central Florida Coach Lines, the listed operator of Auto Bus, has not had insurance coverage since July 2003. After recently learning from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission the company was still in operation, Grossman said the federal agency issued a cease operations order against Central Florida Coach Lines on March 23.
Technically, Deets contends Central Florida Coach Lines has not been the operator of Auto-Bus for about three years. He said Auto-Bus is instead operated by another company he owns, Orange Blossom Coach Lines.
